Why Did Moses Make Excuses? What the Burning Bush Teaches Us About Our Own

Moses stood before the burning bush, surprised by God’s call and uncertain about what would happen next. Instead of immediately accepting the mission, he raised several questions and excuses. His response reminds us that God can call ordinary people even when they feel unprepared, afraid, or inadequate. Moses focused on his weaknesses, but God focused on His own presence and power. The story challenges us to consider the excuses we make when God asks us to step forward. Like Moses, we may feel unable, but God does not ask us to depend only on ourselves. He promises to be with us.
